Brighton People’s Theatre
BHWC patients can now improve your wellbeing through creativity – come and play online with Brighton People’s Theatre!
This past year has taken its toll on us all. Finding ways to look after your wellbeing through such a tough time is super important.
Brighton People’s Theatre is offering you the chance to keep your spirits up through lockdown and join them for a six-week adventure! Have fun, make friends and stay creative. And the added bonus? It’s all online from the comfort of your own home. Why not bring a friend along with you?
Sign up to be part of a regular, supportive group where you’ll meet new people, play games, and have fun. We’re all a little bit fed up with lockdown and this is a great chance to sprinkle a little joy in your week; they guarantee you A LOT of laughter!
Join BPT every Monday online for their workshops. You’ll get to learn all about storytelling and performance. You’ll create short plays around themes of hope and togetherness. By the end of six weeks, you will have been part of writing and performing in your own short play.
You don’t need any previous experience either, just give it a go!
Sounds fun right?! Their members think so too:
“There’s always an uplifting feeling after every session. It’s like achieving something whilst having fun.”
“BPT is a very nice little family. It’s my favourite place to be. It’s very friendly and welcoming, and not judgemental at all. It’s encouraged for you to go wild and express yourself. It’s beautiful”
“I’ve been bowled over by the BPT experience, especially the workshops, and am frankly a bit surprised by how important it has become to me in such a short time.”
BPT is running three lots of online workshops, and all follow the same programme of activity, so there’s plenty of opportunity for you to get involved.
Join BPT online every Monday from 22 February to 29 March – sign up for all six sessions.
Their workshops are offered at a low cost, £10 per session (£60 for the six weeks) or Pay What You Decide for those on low incomes. If you want to take part but can’y afford to pay the full cost for six weeks upfront, no worries! BPT are happy to spread the cost weekly if you have a chat with them. If you live in Whitehawk, Manor Farm of Bristol Estate, they’re running FREE workshops for locals.

BPT prioritise people who have had the fewest opportunities to access arts and cultural activities. All their activities are open to people over the age of 18, with a BNpostcode, and who have never worked professionally in the arts.
Current BPT workshops are being run as closed groups until 29 March. Summer term workshops (starting after the Easter break) will be open for bookings in the next couple of weeks. Sign up to BPT’s newsletter to be kept up to date here: http://eepurl.com/gRpiLb‘
