Cara received a first for her three-year study in acupuncture from TAA in 2015. The course was extensive and covered all aspects of Chinese medical and acupuncture theory with the focus on Five Element Theory. She also studied units on Western bio -medicine.
The Western medical arm is particularly useful providing a background to many conditions, the side effects of medications and working with a GP or specialist to achieve the desired result.
She was recently chosen for a sponsored program to advance her skills in TCM style acupuncture and attended a study program at Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine in Harbin, China.
In June 2020, Cara was the co- founder and clinical director of a project that provided acupuncture for the NHS to help them cope with their extreme workload experienced due to the COVID pandemic.
Her specialism is anxiety, depression and PTSD and most recently experience with long covid. Her passion is the integration of Eastern and Western medicine.
In her down time she is partial to silent discos, hiking, pub quizzes, leopard print, Bengal Spice tea, international travel and yoga.
