Shilpa Patel is the lead clinical pharmacist and practice partner. She started working at BHWC in 2016 when NHS England started a pilot programme to bring pharmacists into GP practice to help GPS.
She has 17 years of experience in community pharmacy. Shilpa is a prescribing pharmacist and manages all the repeat prescriptions at the practice with the help of our prescription team and deals with any medication related queries.
Her special interests are sexual health & drug addiction. She runs a clinic at the practice to help wean patients off benzodiazepines. As one of the first ever pharmacist partners she is a role model for pharmacists nationally and we are very lucky to have her working at our practice.
